ABOUT US

Wheelchair Basketball North Wales (WBNW) is recognised as the lead body for wheelchair basketball in the North Wales region. We are a voluntary organisation made up of representatives from local clubs working collaboratively to develop both participation and performance outlets.

WBNW oversees the development and management of the North Wales Knights, our regional representative teams, who compete in British Wheelchair Basketball’s National Leagues. In addition WBNW facilitate and organise the North Wales League which provides a welcoming opportunity for the next generation of players, coaches and officials to engage in an appropriate level of competition with the potential to progress through performance pathways either into North Wales Knights, Wales or Great Britain squads.

Wheelchair basketball is an extremely inclusive sport that has the potential to engage with disabled people at risk of isolation, social poverty and poor health. We have built up a solid reputation and have a strong track record of empowering and enabling disabled people to achieve their goals which often includes benefits that stretch way beyond the basketball court. We are committed to facilitating a better quality of life for all players, officials, coaches and families through the power of sport.
